Alpine A310 Vision: the 1971 A310 reimagined for the Paris Motor Show

Built on the platform for the next A110, the one-off concept marks 55 years of the A310 and 50 of the A310 V6. Alpine says it will not be built.

Alpine revealed the A310 Vision at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026. It is the concept Alpine teased the week before under the code name PS1, for "Projet Spécial 1", as Autocar reports. It is a one-off tribute to the A310, the sharp-edged coupe Alpine launched in 1971 as the follow-up to the original Berlinette.

The timing is an anniversary: the four-cylinder A310 turns 55 this year and the A310 V6 turns 50.

Not a production preview

Alpine is direct about this. It calls the A310 Vision an independent design study, "rather than the announcement of a future production model." Its designers worked with an original A310 parked in the middle of the studio and set out to imagine what the car would look like if it were designed today, mixing the clean lines of the early four-cylinder cars with the wider wings of the V6.

Alpine has not given a powertrain, power, weight or performance figures.

Why the platform matters

The A310 Vision sits on the new Alpine Performance Platform (APP), the same platform Alpine says the third-generation A110 will use. Alpine presents the concept as proof of the design freedom APP gives, with room for new proportions and volumes.

The design

  • Pop-down headlights. The front end flexes to reveal the lights when the car starts, a modern answer to the pop-up lights of the 1970s.
  • Triangular "A" wheels, a nod to the solid metal wheels of the early A310s.
  • An S-duct in the bonnet, and a "Y zero" blade running along the centre of the car.
  • A two-part split rear wing with a semi-transparent, ice-like finish, and blade-shaped rear lights that Alpine says add downforce.
  • Aluminium bodywork over a black lower section with a Formula 1-inspired finish, and a semi-transparent cabin bubble.

Alpine kept the interior mostly hidden. Through the glass you can see organic-shaped seats, colour-blocked trim and physical controls that Alpine says take their cue from hi-fi equipment.

Our take

The A310 Vision will not reach showrooms, but it is the clearest look yet at what APP can do, and APP is the platform under the next A110. A 4.55 m car with a 2.45 m wheelbase on the same base as Alpine's next small sports car suggests APP is meant to stretch well beyond one model. For now it is a very good-looking anniversary present.
