Aston Martin Valen: 838 hp makes it the most powerful front-engined production car

Aston Martin revealed the Valen at Monterey on August 14, 2026: a front-engined V12 supercar limited to 150 cars, and the most powerful front-engined production car the company has built.

• Production: 150 cars, all bespoke commissions through Q by Aston Martin

The claim, and whether it stands up

"Most powerful front-engined production car" is the sort of line that usually needs three qualifiers to survive. This one does not. At 838 hp the Valen clears the Vanquish that sits below it in Aston's own range by fourteen, and it does so with the engine ahead of the driver, which is the harder way to do it.

The 1,000 Nm figure matters more than the horsepower. It arrives at 2,500 rpm, which in a car with this much carbon fibre and this little mass means the throttle does most of the work the gearbox would otherwise be asked to do.

Lightness, counted properly

Aston has not published a kerb weight, which is worth noting rather than glossing over. What it has published is savings: up to 110 kg against the core V12 platform, a further 16.9 kg if you specify the lightweight pack, and 14.8 kg of that total from the titanium exhaust alone. Magnesium wheels are standard rather than an option, which is unusual at any price.

The body is carbon fibre throughout, with a single-piece tailgate carrying an integrated wing. Downforce comes from a Gurney flap and saw-tooth vortex generators, though Aston has not put a number on it.

150 cars, none of them the same

Every Valen goes through Q by Aston Martin, so no two will be specified alike. The launch car wears Satin Andromeda Red with Chromaflair, a paint that shifts colour with the angle you look at it, and the interior gets a slim centre console with 3D-printed elements.
