2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680: 603 hp V8, illuminated grille, self-righting wheels

Mercedes-Maybach revealed the 2027 GLS 680 with a facelifted M177 twin-turbo V8 producing 603 hp and 627 lb-ft, up 53 hp and 89 lb-ft from the outgoing GLS 600, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, an illuminated grille and standing star, and 22-inch wheels with an optional 23-inch forged set that keeps the Maybach logo upright at speed.

Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and GLS 63 keep the V8, and rework it

Mercedes-AMG has revealed the updated 2027 GLE 63 S Coupe and GLS 63, and the headline is what they didn't do: ditch the V8. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo M177 stays at 603 hp but is heavily re-engineered with a flat-plane crankshaft and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. US dealers get them in fall 2026.
