BMW X3 M50 xDrive gets 437 hp and a Black Package

The same power bump as the new M350, 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, and an option pack with 22-inch wheels and more Alcantara. It arrives in December.

BMW has given the X3 M50 xDrive the same power bump as the new M350 xDrive. From December 2026, the 3.0-litre straight-six with 48-volt mild hybrid makes 326 kW. BMW's global release calls that 443 hp, but the figure is 443 PS, which is 437 hp. Before the update it was 398 PS, or 393 hp.

There is still no X3 M in this generation, so the M50 stays the top of the range.

What changes

  • Power: 326 kW (443 PS, 437 hp), up 33 kW
  • 0-100 km/h: 4.4 seconds, down from 4.6. BMW also quotes 4.1 seconds with a one-foot rollout.
  • Emissions: the engine now meets Euro 7
  • Fuel: 8.8 to 8.1 l/100 km combined (WLTP)

The extra power comes with every X3 M50 xDrive. It is not part of the Black Package.

The Black Package

This is an option for the M50 only.

Outside: - 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black wheels, one inch bigger than anything previously offered on the car - High-gloss black M Sport brake calipers with a monochrome M logo - M logos and model badges in gloss black with a silver outline

Inside: - Black BMW Individual Alcantara on the driver's side of the instrument panel, in front of the central display, on the phone tray, the door trims and the centre armrest - Alcantara and Veganza seats with blue stitching and piping - An embossed M logo on the headrests - M aluminium-carbon trim and CraftedClarity glass controls - A leather impact pad on the M steering wheel - Black floor mats with a flag in the M colours

BMW has not announced a price for the package.

Every X3 gets small updates

From December, every X3 gets: - A PVC Softskin surface in front of the central display - New stitching on the instrument panel - Ambient lighting in the centre-console storage and the inside door handles - A redesigned glove box release

The 30e xDrive and M50 xDrive also get stainless-steel edge guards on the boot sill. M Sport and M Performance cars get Dark Silver entry sills with a black M logo. The four-cylinder 20 xDrive is now Euro 7 compliant too.

Our X3 page now shows the M50 xDrive at 437 hp and 4.4 seconds.
