Jaguar has revealed the production Type 01, the first car of its all-electric relaunch. It was unveiled in New York on 6 October 2026, at STORIED in West Chelsea, after digital displays in Times Square, DUMBO and the Lower East Side. Jaguar calls it the most powerful, most aerodynamic and most technologically advanced Jaguar ever, and it is designed, engineered and built in the UK.
It is a luxury four-door GT, and the first production car on Jaguar's new Jaguar Electric Architecture.

Jaguar has not published a 0-100 km/h time, top speed, weight, battery size or dimensions yet, so we have left them out rather than repeat estimates. Some reports quote a slightly higher power figure; Jaguar's own number is "more than 1,000 PS".
When you can buy one
Orders open in early 2027, and Jaguar expects first deliveries in the second half of 2027. The $130,500 is Jaguar's anticipated US starting price, not a final one.
The name, and the cabin
Jaguar says "Type" nods to its predecessors, the "0" stands for zero tailpipe emissions, and the "1" marks the first of a new generation. The design is meant to carry a line from the E-type and the XJS: long bonnet, low roof, and very little surface detail. Inside, which Jaguar showed in August, a central spine runs the full length of the cabin and splits it into four separate seats.
Jaguar also named Florence Pugh as the first brand ambassador of its new era at the reveal.
Our take
After two years of rebrand and teasers, this is the first time Jaguar's new direction comes with real numbers. More than 1,000 PS and 400 miles of range put it straight into the conversation with the Porsche Taycan and the newly reviewed Polestar 5, with four seats rather than five. Jaguar describes it as a car that "never arrives unnoticed", and the design will divide people. The questions that matter now, weight, real-world range and how it drives, will have to wait until Jaguar publishes full figures and the first drives come in.
