Range Rover previewed a new nameplate on July 22, 2026: the Range Rover GT. It is positioned as the fifth member of the Range Rover family, alongside Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, and Range Rover Evoque.
The GT arrives on JLR's EMA platform as a battery-electric vehicle at launch. A full hybrid electric variant will follow later in the lifecycle. Range Rover has not published performance figures, pricing, or a delivery date. The company says more details will follow later this year.
What Range Rover is actually saying
The teaser images show a coupé silhouette that reads more grand tourer than SUV, with sleek proportions Range Rover describes as "GT poise." Interior details published with the teaser:
- A single-screen design paired with a driver display, replacing the traditional instrument cluster
- A concealed air vent running the full width of the cabin
- Woven textile dashboard wrapping
- Class-leading second-row legroom
That is the extent of what Range Rover has committed to on the record. Everything else — kW figures, kWh, range, 0-100, top speed, price, exact delivery window — is not in the release. Aggregator restates that circulate over the next few weeks should be treated with the same skepticism.
Why it matters
Range Rover has not launched a brand-new nameplate above Evoque in a long time. The GT is the first Range Rover designed from the ground up as an electric grand tourer, not an ICE model with a battery bolted underneath.
Two things are worth watching between now and the full reveal:
- Positioning vs. Range Rover proper. The current flagship is a full-size luxury SUV. The GT reads as a lower, coupé-shaped alternative. Whether it slots below the standard Range Rover (a "Sport-alternative" with a coupé roof) or alongside it (a distinct grand-tourer product) shapes the entire product ladder.
- The Ferrari Luce question. Ferrari's first EV is a grand-tourer four-door. Range Rover's stated intent to "redefine the grand-touring segment" with an electric coupé-shaped four-door lands the GT in the same body-style bracket. It is not the same buyer, but it is the same architectural bet.

What's not in this teaser
For editors covering the GT: the release does not state power output, torque, 0-100 km/h, top speed, battery capacity, range on any cycle, dimensions in mm, curb weight, drive layout (single/dual/tri-motor), pricing in any currency, or a specific delivery start date. Anything published with those numbers before the full reveal is not sourced to Range Rover.
