BMW has revealed the iX3 M60 xDrive, the most powerful version of the Neue Klasse iX3 and its first M Performance model. BMW announced it on 8 October 2026. Orders open at the end of January 2027, and production starts at BMW's Debrecen plant in Hungary in spring 2027.

The numbers

Power463 hp450 kW (603 hp)
Torque645 Nm875 Nm
0-100 km/h4.9 s3.9 s
Top speed210 km/h240 km/h
Battery (usable)108.7 kWh108.7 kWh

DC charging400 kW400 kW, up to 340 km in 10 min

BMW's global release writes the power as "612 hp". That is 612 PS; BMW Canada's figure is 603 hp, which is what we use.

The extra power comes from a new electrically excited motor at the rear axle, paired with a stronger inverter (420 A instead of 300 A). A longer ratio and a higher permitted motor speed lift the top speed to 240 km/h. The battery is the same 108.7 kWh pack, so range drops only modestly, from 805 to 754 km. AC charging is 22 kW as standard.

M Performance equipment

As standard: - Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering and an M Sport differential - A roof spoiler with two aeroblades that adds downforce at the rear - 21-inch M wheels; 22-inch M aero wheels are available only on this model - The M Yellow Lights at the front, the same idea as the new M350 xDrive, which BMW says are inspired by the M Hybrid V8 race car - A black diffuser and a new-style "M60" badge - Inside: massaging M Sport seats with illuminated M logos, and an M steering wheel with a red 12 o'clock marker and buttons for Boost Mode and M Mode

BMW has not published a weight or a price yet.

Where it fits

The M60 sits above the iX3 50 xDrive as the top of the electric X3 range, and on paper it outguns the petrol X3 M50 xDrive by more than 150 hp. Like every Neue Klasse car, it runs BMW's "Heart of Joy" central computer, which BMW says coordinates drive, braking, steering and recuperation ten times faster than before.
