The doors are the statement
Genesis showed the GV90 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on 19 August 2026. It is the brand's first full-size electric flagship, and the first Genesis where the way you get in is the headline.
The Neolun version has coach doors: the rears hinge at the back and swing open against the fronts, on what Genesis calls a dual-motion hinge, with no B-pillar between them. A conventional-door GV90 is offered alongside it for anyone who would rather not explain the concept in a car park.
Front seats swivel 180 degrees when the car is parked, which only makes sense once the doors are open and the pillar is gone.
The numbers Genesis published
A 123.5 kWh battery, good for approximately 500 km in seven-seat form. Genesis does not name the test cycle behind that figure, so treat it as the manufacturer's own claim rather than a WLTP number.
Charging is the more interesting figure: on a 350 kW charger, 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes.
The drivetrain is dual-motor, 490 kW and 800 Nm combined, with a dual e-LSD front and rear. Rear-wheel steering turns up to five degrees, which matters on something 5,285 mm long with a 3,245 mm wheelbase. Multi-chamber air suspension with adjustable stiffness underneath.
Inside
Seven seats as standard, or a four-seat Executive Suite. A pop-up 23.6-inch OLED display that extends to 24.6, a 25-inch head-up display, and a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen system. Twelve airbags, including what Genesis describes as the world's first roof airbag.
Materials run to natural wood, genuine stone and wool cashmere. The body and frame are aluminium.
What Genesis has not said
No 0-100 km/h time. No top speed. No kerb weight. No price, and no on-sale date.
For a 490 kW flagship that is a conspicuous set of blanks, and we are not going to fill them from a spreadsheet somewhere. When Genesis publishes them, the model page gets them.
