McLaren has confirmed that the 750S will end production in 2027, and that it is taking final orders now. McLaren announced it on 8 October 2026.
The end of the 750S also ends a family. It replaced the 720S in 2023, and the 720S launched in 2017, so the platform will have been in production for about a decade by the time the last car is built.
The 750S in numbers
| McLaren 750S | |
|---|---|
| Power | 750 PS (740 hp) |
| Dry weight | 1,277 kg |
| Launched | 2023, replacing the 720S |
| Body styles | Coupe and Spider |
| Production ends | 2027 |
McLaren says about 30 percent of the 750S's parts were new or changed over the 720S, which made it more powerful, lighter and quicker.
A decade of V8 supercars
The same platform gave McLaren a run of cars that won awards on the road and races on track, in international GT racing and in the World Endurance Championship:
- 720S (2017): the start of the line, and the car the 750S replaced.
- 765LT: the track-focused Longtail version.
- 788HS: the newest and most exclusive, limited to 200 cars, each built through McLaren Special Operations (MSO).
- MSO one-offs on the 750S, such as the 750S with the 3-7-59 Theme and Project Viva.
The 750S itself was named Top Gear's Performance Car of the Year in 2024.
"The 750S represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar: benchmark performance, thrilling driver engagement, technical innovation, expressive design, and defined personalisation. It will leave behind an extraordinary legacy." Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive
What McLaren has not said
McLaren has not said what replaces the 750S, or exactly when in 2027 the last car will be built. We will update this when it does.
Our take
The 750S has been the centre of McLaren's supercar range since 2023, and the 720S before it since 2017. If you want one new, McLaren is telling buyers now that the order books are closing, so the time to talk to a retailer is before the 2027 cut-off rather than during it. We have added the 2027 end date to the 750S on our McLaren page.
