The Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho had its world premiere at Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10, 2026. It is a one-of-one commissioned car, the second of three Grandi Complicazioni builds Pagani is producing to mark Horacio Pagani's 70th birthday.
What Pagani built
- Engine: 6.0-litre AMG twin-turbo V12, 864 hp, revised intake and exhaust vs. the standard Huayra
- Transmission: 7-speed manual with exposed linkage, RWD
- Body: carbon-titanium monocoque, bespoke aero package with a rear wing and diffuser detailed to the customer's specification
- Interior: exposed gearset, machined-aluminium switchgear, quilted leather in a colour combination not offered on any other Huayra
The Derecho is not the fastest Huayra ever. The Codalunga was more aero-optimised, the R had more power. What the Derecho has is the H-pattern manual gearbox, which the customer specified and Horacio approved.
Why this matters
Every other manufacturer in the six-figure-plus hypercar bracket has moved to dual-clutch or single-clutch automated boxes. Ferrari killed the manual gated shifter in 2012. Lamborghini killed it earlier. McLaren never offered one on a road car. The manual survives in Pagani's world because Horacio personally likes it, and because his customers can pay for the engineering to keep it there.
The Derecho is the second Grandi Complicazioni car after the first birthday one-off shown earlier in 2026. A third build is coming. All three go to individual clients and none will be replicated. This is Pagani's business model taken to its logical endpoint: not a limited edition, not a bespoke variant, but a car that exists for one person.
See how it slots against the rest of the modern V12 field on our fastest cars list.
